Detroit JazzStage celebrates the 2006 Detroit International Jazz Festival

Jazz Detroit! -  Howard WeingardenAs you probably know by now, Detroit JazzStage had the pleasure of working with the Detroit International Jazz Festival . We are thrilled that each of our featured artists appeared at the festival.

Celebrating Detroit’s rich Jazz heritage with host Rodney Reeves is Executive Producer and former co-host Dean Sahutske and Mark Byerly Besides being our Sound Engineer, composing and perfoming our theme song, Mark was also our first guest and our Sound Engineer. Jim Gallert is preparing for his role as presenter and interviewer for the Detroit International Jazz Festival.

For your September edition of Detroit JazzStage you will hear musical selections from many of our past guests as well as some artists that haven’t appeared on Detroit JazzStage. Listeners of DJS have come to expect material that can’t be heard anywhere else and this show is no exception.  Your hosts will share their thoughts and incite on the featured music from past guests such as Paul Keller, Rick Roe, Urban Transport , and Bop Culture featuring Mark Byerly.  You will also hear selections from Drummer/composer Gayelynn McKinney of Detroit’s legendary jazz family,  veteran Saxophonist Steve Wood and Guitarist Paul Abler .
